Recreation Therapist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As a?Recreation Therapist, you would plan and conduct activities, working individually or as a member of a treatment team or treatment program. You would analyze and report behavioral patterns to a team leader or other supervisor, verbally or in medical records. As a treatment team member, you would participate in team meetings, recreation/leisure assessment, and evaluation. In addition, you may be required to requisition, store, and maintain equipment and supplies. Under the supervision of the Treatment Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for recreational activities with individuals residing in the Extended Treatment Unit in accordance with ICF/483 regulations DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Under the supervision of the TTL and as a member of the ETU treatment team, the incumbent will plan and conduct recreational activities to address the needs of the individuals to foster acclimation into the community by utilizing a wide range of recreational activities. The incumbent will organize/direct sports, games, music, dances, hobbies, exercise program, outings to address their individualized needs. The incumbent will requisition recreational equipment / supplies and maintain for use by ETU individuals. The incumbent will as needed train the DSAs in any required implementation of recreational goals and documentation set for the individual. Will complete recreational assessment section of the CFA for their assigned individuals and attend the ITT meetings as required by the 483 regulations. The incumbent will be required to complete necessary required documentation of community inclusion and the individuals progress towards goal attainment and participation in activities. The incumbent will be responsible to manage/request/document/secure personal allowance expenditures via Acumatica for their assigned individuals in accordance with their personal expenditure plans (PEP). The incumbent will keep current with all their required trainings, the incumbent will also be required, when necessary, to transport consumers/staff on recreational outings etc. Incumbent should have training/experience in one of the following areas- Dance, Yoga, Arts, Physical Fitness or Music etc. Prefer incumbent 1 yr. of ICF (483 regulations) experience working with Intellectually Developmentally Disabled May assist or cover other recreation therapists for SOIRAs when census in ETU has been reduced.

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually
Minimum Qualification
You must have bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation OR A bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education or Adaptive Physical Education?AND?one year of experience in planning and administering a therapeutic recreation program which involved developing and coordinating therapeutic recreational activities for geriatric patients/residents, individuals with developmental disabilities, individuals with psychiatric disabilities, individuals that are physically challenged, or individuals in treatment for chemical dependency. A therapeutic recreation program is defined as a professional service that assists people with disabilities and other limitations to have a leisure life-style that encompasses functional independence, health and well-being through treatment, education and participation. Therapeutic recreation is practiced in clinical, community and residential treatment settings.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
