Field Team Leader/Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Franklin Energy provides our utility clients with a wide range of energy-saving and renewable energy solutions. From individual utility customers and construction contractors, to utilities, municipalities, and government bodies, our clients have come to depend on our customized energy efficiency programs to help them to meet their energy saving goals.

The Field Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising field personnel who install energy efficient equipment and products. You will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Field Supervisor is also responsible to:

  • Supervise a team of up to 8 Field technicians.
  • Coordinate the workload for their team and prioritizes job assignments.
  • Promote teamwork and maintain high morale
  • Maintain discipline and adherence to program procedures and Company policy
  • Maintain the quality of work
  • Perform installations, conduct site assessments, and schedule appointments as needed
  • Conduct announced and unannounced inspections of field personnel to monitor their performance on a weekly/monthly basis in order to maintain quality and customer service
  • Maintain Company van product inventory, supplies, and individual and team tools.
  • Control product and inventory management to ensure staff has all tools and energy efficiency product to complete installations efficiently
  • Assist in resolution of customer complaints
  • Help Identify and schedule internal and external training opportunities to develop staff
  • Approve installation summary sheets and verify that all work is complete and documented
  • Provided technical assistance to crews
  • Generate records and reports of activities, maintain timekeeping and productivity records.
  • Coordinate with the program project coordinator to ensure entry of all projects into the database
  • Approve all timesheets, expense reports, and leave requests for assigned personnel
  • Assist with performance review writing and presentation to the assigned personnel
  • Assist with conducting disciplinary action as required
  • Collaborate with other Field Supervisors to share best practices and continually improve operations.
  • Provide feedback to inform marketing strategy.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in field management
  • Familiar with residential lighting
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Experience in customer service, sales, and field work - Preferred
  • Experience in the electric or natural gas utility industry, facilities management, HVAC sales, residential, commercial, and/or industrial lighting, or conservation and energy management may be helpful

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and employees
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems
  • Reliable transportation

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver's license required

Travel Requirements

  • Travel in the local area up to 80% of the time
  • Some occasional overnight travel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment
  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Noise Level is typically moderate
  • Employee could be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and risk of potential shock

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
